DAY 1

Our tour begins from Athens and on the way to the Peloponnese we will stop at the Corinthian canal and see the site where we can have some coffee & breakfast. After that we head to Ancient Corinth where we will see the museum, the temple of Apollo, the vima from which St. Paul preached to the Corinthians in 52 B.C. and we will also see the Roman Baths. Then we travel to the east of the Peloponnese towards Epidavros where we will see the ancient theatre of Epidavros, the temple of Asklipios and the museum. After that we will go to the town of Nafplion which is one of the finest cities in Greece and was the capital of the country in 1829. We will have lunch in the old town at one of the best tavernas and then we will see Palamidi which is one of the best castles in Greece (about 600 years old) and has a breathtaking view of Nafplio and the Argolic gulf. We will sleep over in Nafplion.

DAY 2

The following morning we leave Nafplio and head south east of the Peloponnese towards Sparti. Besides seeing the city of Sparti we will also see the Byzantine monastery of Mystra which is about 800 years old. After that we head west of the Peloponnese for Nestor’s Palace while passing by one of the biggest mountains of the Peloponnese (mount Taigetos). The ride is beautiful. We then reach Kalamata which is a beautiful town and is worldly known for its “Kalamata Olives”. Continuing our tour we pass through a huge forest of olive trees and then reach Pylos a small amphitheatric town which has the largest natural port in all of the Mediterranean. After that we will see Nestor’s Palace, the Tholoto Tafos at Agliano and the museum at a small village called Chora. When night falls we travel northwest of the Peloponnese towards ancient Olympia where we will sleep over.

DAY 3

The next day we will visit the village of ancient Olympia where we will see the ancient stadium, the temple of Hera, the Palestra, Phidias’ workshop, the Roman Baths, and two very nice museums. At night we will return to Athens from the west of the Peloponnese accompanied with the view of the Ionian Sea. When we are done we return to Athens.
